Application Method
Apply small gel bait placements (pea-sized drops) directly in cracks, crevices, and areas where ants are foraging or trailing. For Pharaoh ants: prebait entire structure with honey to locate all colonies, then place gel bait wherever ants are found. For Carpenter ants: place baits where ants are actively foraging, typically near nest sites or on trails. For Odorous House ants: combine indoor gel baiting with outdoor liquid bait or perimeter spray for best results. Do not spray near baits with repellent insecticides as this will prevent ants from feeding. Rotate bait formulations to prevent bait aversion.
Timing
Apply when ant activity is observed. Most effective when combined with sanitation and exclusion efforts.
Frequency
Inspect placements weekly. Replenish consumed or dried baits. Continue until no ant activity for 2-4 weeks after final application.
Preparation Required
Identify ant species to select appropriate bait. Locate all trailing and foraging areas. For Pharaoh ants, prebait with honey to find all colonies. Remove competing food sources.
Follow-up Required
Monitor bait consumption. Replenish as needed. Give taste test of different baits if ants are not feeding. All queens and immatures must be killed for complete elimination. Track population reductions with monitoring traps.
