Application Method

Apply insecticide or termiticide to crawl space soil, foundation walls, piers, and substructure. For termites: treat per termiticide label creating barrier in soil along foundation interior and around piers. For general pests: apply residual insecticide to foundation walls, floor joists, piers, and harborage areas. Can apply as liquid spray or dust formulation. Dust applications (boric acid, diatomaceous earth) provide longer residual in dry crawl spaces. Liquid treatments provide immediate knockdown and barrier. Treat entire crawl space perimeter, all pier bases, around plumbing penetrations, and along floor joist perimeter. Crawl spaces often harbor significant pest populations due to moisture, darkness, and lack of disturbance.

Timing

Treat when pest activity detected originating from crawl space or as preventive measure during initial service setup.

Frequency

Quarterly treatments for commercial accounts. Annual or as-needed for residential. Termite treatments provide multi-year protection.

Preparation Required

Inspect crawl space for access, conditions, and pest activity. Have appropriate PPE, lighting, and equipment. Select treatment formulation appropriate for moisture level. Calculate product volume needed.

Follow-up Required

Document treatment areas. Recommend moisture reduction if excessive humidity detected. Monitor for pest activity reduction in structure. Schedule re-treatment based on product residual and pest pressure.

Safety Precautions

  • Requires licensed pest management professional
  • Wear appropriate PPE including respirator in confined spaces
  • Ensure adequate lighting and safe movement
  • Be aware of sharp objects, nails, and electrical hazards
  • Do not contaminate soil excessively
  • Provide adequate ventilation during application
