Application Method

Apply ultra-low volume (ULV) insecticide fog for temporary knockdown of flying insects in outdoor or large indoor spaces. ULV equipment produces fine aerosol droplets (5-30 microns) that remain suspended in air, contacting flying insects. For mosquitoes: apply in evening when mosquitoes most active using truck-mounted or backpack ULV equipment. For indoor applications: use thermal or cold foggers in warehouses, food processing facilities (when empty), or severe infestations. Provides rapid knockdown but minimal residual. Not a substitute for source reduction or residual treatments. Often used for special events, outdoor gatherings, or severe acute infestations. Products typically contain pyrethrins, pyrethroids, or synergized formulations.

Timing

Apply in early morning or evening when target insects most active and beneficial insects less active. Outdoor applications should be calm conditions (wind under 10 mph).

Frequency

As needed for special events or acute infestations. No residual control - effects last only hours. Repeat applications not sustainable long-term solution.

Preparation Required

Calibrate ULV equipment properly. Mix product to labeled dilution. Identify treatment area boundaries. Post notification as required. Ensure weather conditions appropriate (low wind, correct temperature).

Follow-up Required

Document treatment area and conditions. Educate customer that ULV provides temporary relief only. Recommend long-term solutions (source reduction, exclusion, residual treatments). Monitor for pest resurgence.

Safety Precautions

  • Requires licensed pest management professional
  • Keep people and pets out of treatment area during and immediately after application
  • Avoid application when beneficial insects active
  • Do not apply when wind exceeds 10 mph
  • Post notification signs as required
  • Never apply to food or food contact surfaces
  • Ensure adequate ventilation before reoccupancy
