Application Method

Apply tracking powder containing rodenticide to burrows, runways, and harborage areas where rodents will walk through powder and ingest it during grooming. Tracking powders typically contain anticoagulant rodenticides. Apply light dusting to active runways in areas inaccessible to people and non-target animals: inside wall voids, under floors, in attics, in burrows, and along foundation perimeters (exterior only where protected from weather). Rodents contact powder with feet and fur, then ingest while grooming. Effective for Norway rats and roof rats that may be bait-shy. Never use in areas accessible to people, pets, or where powder could be tracked into occupied spaces. Highly restricted use - many jurisdictions prohibit or severely restrict tracking powder use.

Timing

Use only when bait stations and trapping have failed and rodent infestation persists.

Frequency

Single application. Do not reapply. Monitor for dead rodents and reduction in activity.

Preparation Required

Verify legal to use in jurisdiction. Obtain required permits if needed. Identify application sites that are completely isolated from human and pet contact. Have appropriate PPE and application equipment.

Follow-up Required

Search for and remove dead rodents. Monitor for continued activity. Document application sites. Remove powder residues if rodent activity eliminated. Never leave tracking powder in place long-term.
