Application Method

Apply fly bait containing sugar attractants and insecticide (methomyl, imidacloprid, or dinotefuran) to surfaces where flies rest and feed. Available as scatter bait (granules scattered in thin layer), paint-on bait (mixed with water and painted on surfaces), or bait stations. For exterior use: apply to dumpster pads, loading docks, building sides, dumpster lids, fence posts, and other fly resting areas. For interior use (limited situations): apply to areas not accessible to people or food - suspended ceiling voids, electrical rooms, storage areas. Do not apply where bait could contact food or fall onto food contact surfaces. Flies feed on bait and die within minutes to hours. Reapply as bait is consumed or loses effectiveness. Combine with sanitation to remove breeding sites for best results.

Timing

Apply when fly activity observed. Most effective during warm weather when flies are actively feeding. Reapply after rain for exterior applications.

Frequency

Reapply every 7-14 days or as needed based on fly pressure and bait consumption. More frequent applications needed in hot humid weather. May need daily application in heavy infestations.

Preparation Required

Identify fly resting and feeding areas. Select appropriate bait formulation for location. Ensure surfaces are dry for paint-on applications. Have application equipment ready (sprayer for paint-on, scoop for scatter bait).

Follow-up Required

Monitor fly activity levels. Reapply as bait is consumed or degrades. Inspect for dead flies and remove to maintain sanitary conditions. Focus on sanitation and exclusion to address root causes. Remove bait from areas if no longer needed.

Safety Precautions

  • Requires licensed pest management professional
  • Never apply where bait could contact food or food contact surfaces
  • Keep children and pets away from treated areas
  • Do not apply to horizontal surfaces where bait could be consumed by non-target organisms
  • Wear gloves during application
  • Follow all label restrictions carefully
