Application Method

Apply specialized drain gel or foam to floor drains, sink drains, and other drains where organic buildup provides breeding sites for flies and harborage for cockroaches. Products contain natural bacteria and enzymes that digest organic film and slime in drains, eliminating fly larvae and reducing odors. Some formulations also contain insect growth regulators or mild insecticides. Apply per label directions - typically 4-8 oz per drain. For floor drains, apply before end of day when drains will not be used for several hours to allow product to coat drain surfaces and work. Use drain brush to scrub visible buildup before applying product. Foam formulations expand to coat entire drain including areas around drain that are inaccessible. Particularly effective for phorid and drain flies that breed in organic film.

Timing

Apply when fly breeding in drains confirmed by inspection. Best applied at end of workday when drains will not be used overnight.

Frequency

Apply weekly for 2-4 weeks to eliminate existing infestations. Then monthly for maintenance in problem drains. Daily sanitation by staff prevents reinfestations.

Preparation Required

Inspect drains with flashlight to confirm fly larvae or organic buildup present. Identify all problem drains. Have drain brush ready for cleaning heavy buildup. Ensure drain is flowing properly before treatment.

Follow-up Required

Monitor drains for fly activity. Re-inspect during follow-up visit to verify larvae eliminated. Continue treatments until no larvae observed, then switch to monthly maintenance. Educate customer on importance of daily drain sanitation to prevent future breeding.

Safety Precautions
